Taken from Five Horizons:
Pearl Jam shows are often full of surprises and this show is a particularly good example since Dennis Rodman makes an appearance 12 minutes into the start. He comes romping on stage during Hail Hail, apparently even to Eddie's surprise. During the "I'll only be as good as you'll let me" lyrics, Rodman bows down and tips his hat to Eddie. He gives Stone a hug, places a cowboy hat on Eddie's head, proceeds to drink from his wine bottle and sings the "cha, cha" sounds at the end of Hail Hail. Eddie exclaims, "All right. The party just started!" but Rodman leaves the stage at the end of Hail Hail. However, he returns during Corduroy, lending more vocals and trying to get the crowd enthused (as if they aren't!) and Eddie and Dennis pour wine into each other's mouths. For the next few songs, he is content to sit on Jeff's stool, rocking out, while the band play very well, nearly oblivious to Rodman's huge presence. But he rises to the occasion during Alive and Eddie climbs up on his shoulders, continuing to sing and does a skin the cat off his back. At the end of Alive, Matt says a quick, "Thank you. Good night," and hops up, circles his stool and sits back down. Rodman does eventually leave during Off He Goes (Jeff needs his stool!). Mankind is rousing with Ed playing tambourine to the side and patting Stone on the back at the end. Immortality has a long jam and Matt just shines. The highlight of this show is Sonic Reducer, with assistance from the Murder City Devils and Dennis Rodman, who runs all around the stage and behind the curtain with Eddie. Quite a finish!
